Bitcoin: from a few cents to million-dollar projections

Bitcoin was created in 2009 and, since then, its trajectory has been impressive. From trading for just a few cents in its early years, it reached prices above $60,000 in 2021 and hit the record of $124,480 in August 2025. This surge has many experts asking: how far can it go?
Big names in the sector believe that Bitcoin could surpass $1 million. Among them are Changpeng “CZ” Zhao, founder of Binance, and Eric Trump, son of the U.S. president.
CZ Zhao: prediction between $500,000 and $1 million
In an interview with Farokh Sarmad during Token 2049, in April this year in Abu Dhabi, CZ stated that this Bitcoin cycle is unlike any previous one. For him, a series of structural factors place the cryptocurrency on another level.
“Something between five hundred thousand and one million dollars — that’s the range I’m looking at in this cycle,” Zhao said.
The former Binance CEO highlighted three main pillars:
- Spot ETFs in the U.S. – which created a new structural demand by allowing traditional institutional investors to buy Bitcoin in a regulated way through the stock exchange.
- Political shift in Washington – with Donald Trump back in the White House, the environment has become more favorable to cryptocurrencies, even allowing foreign governments to feel authorized to accumulate Bitcoin.
- The shock of previous scandals – such as the collapse of FTX, which served as a wake-up call and strengthened confidence in Bitcoin as an asset resistant to fraud.
Zhao also poked fun at the popularity of meme coins — currently more than 21 million tokens are tracked on CoinMarketCap, “99.999% of which will fail.” He admitted they can be a profitable distraction, but stressed that “institutions are going into Bitcoin, and institutions overshadow the meme crowd.”
“At the same time, I kind of wish all the small investors had bought first,” he said, adding that citizens, however, “had fifteen years” to buy beforehand.
Eric Trump: Bitcoin will reach $1 million
In August, during the Bitcoin Asia conference in Hong Kong, Eric Trump, in an interview with Reuters, reinforced the optimistic view: “There’s no doubt that Bitcoin will hit $1 million,” he declared.
For him, the growing institutional demand and the limited supply of 21 million coins make this scenario inevitable in the coming years.
Eric also commented on the crypto community’s support for his father’s political career:
“We love this community. We believe in this community.”
His outlook, even with a slightly longer timeline than CZ’s, converges on the same point: the future of Bitcoin is set to be worth millions.
Other names reinforce the thesis
In addition to CZ and Eric Trump, other influential figures also believe in this outcome:
- Robert Kiyosaki has already stated that Bitcoin could surpass $1 million by 2035.
- Brian Armstrong, CEO of Coinbase, said he envisions the $1 million mark by 2030.
will Bitcoin get there?
Bitcoin has survived crises, regulations, and even scandals involving industry giants, maintaining its position as the world’s leading cryptocurrency. Now, with the massive entry of institutions, governments, and major investors, its future appreciation seems increasingly plausible, reinforcing confidence in a scenario that, until recently, seemed impossible.
