Recent statements by Errol Musk, father of billionaire Elon Musk, have sent shockwaves through the international political landscape. In an interview with CNN for the documentary “MisinfoNation: White Genocide,” the South African claimed that the United States will collapse if the white population becomes a minority, a shift projected to occur within the next 20 years.
Technological Decline and a “Return to the Jungle”
During the conversation with correspondent Donie O’Sullivan, Errol described the American demographic transition as “a very, very bad thing.” Elon Musk’s father questioned the future of technological progress under a new racial composition:
“Do you want to see the U.S. decline? Why? Don’t you like electric cars and don’t you like technology? What is this — do you want to go back to the jungle?” Errol said.
The remarks were quickly echoed by news outlets worldwide, sparking an intense debate over racism and demography at a time of heightened political tension, further aggravated by the U.S. boycott of the G20 summit in South Africa.
Defense of Apartheid and Tensions in South Africa
Currently living in South Africa, Errol Musk also drew outrage by addressing his country’s history. He claimed that the small white population was responsible for introducing European culture which, according to him, developed the African Black population.
He also dismissed the existence of systemic oppression during the Apartheid regime, labeling historical accounts as “nonsense” and “absurdities.” These statements come amid claims by Donald Trump of an alleged “white genocide” in the region — allegations that have been firmly denied by South African authorities.
Elon Musk Distances Himself From His Father: “A Terrible Human Being”
Despite sharing a famous last name, the relationship between father and son is marked by estrangement. Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has publicly described Errol as “a terrible human being” and someone who “plans evil.”
In previous interviews, including one with Rolling Stone, Elon emphasized that:
- His father allegedly committed “almost every crime imaginable”;
- His words cannot be trusted;
- Every attempt at reconciliation only made things worse.
Elon Musk does not endorse his father’s statements, maintaining strict distance from Errol, whose views continue to face condemnation from historians and human rights organizations worldwide.

Both express concerns about the future of civilization, but from fundamentally different premises. Errol Musk links the risk of U.S. decline to racial changes in the population, while Elon Musk has focused his criticism on the global decline in birth rates, framing it as a broad demographic issue without explicit racial references.
